Our Premium Astaxanthin contains a high concentration of one of nature’s most potent plant antioxidants.
What is astaxanthin?
Astaxanthin is the pigment that gives the sphaerella pluvialis algae its dark red colour. This algae is officially called Haematococcus pluvialis. Sea creatures such as salmon, shrimps and crabs, which ingest astaxanthin by eating sphaerella pluvialis algae, often have a distinctive pink or red colour.
What does astaxanthin do?
Astaxanthin is a very powerful antioxidant and protects the sphaerella pluvialis algae against external influences by eliminating free radicals caused by oxidative stress. So for example, sphaerella pluvialis algae can withstand extreme conditions such as cold, heat and drought remarkably well.
What is the difference between synthetic and natural astaxanthin?
A dietary supplement containing natural astaxanthin is obtained by cultivating blood rain algae and therefore contains only active astaxanthin that is also found in nature. Dietary supplements containing synthetic astaxanthin contain astaxanthin derived from petroleum through a chemical process.
How does this dietary supplement benefit your health?
Astaxanthin is gaining worldwide popularity and its effect is currently being researched. Therefore, no health claims may be made at this stage pending the approval by the European Commission.
As well as what is mentioned above, this complex also contains other important substances.
